Overview
Located in northern Kenya, Samburu National Reserve offers a unique safari experience in a semi-arid environment. The reserve is famous for its rare wildlife species, including the Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, and the Beisa oryx, collectively known as the “Samburu Special Five.” The Ewaso Ng’iro River runs through the reserve, attracting elephants, lions, and leopards. The Samburu people, with their rich cultural heritage, add to the region’s charm. Visitors can enjoy game drives, guided walks, and cultural tours. The best time to visit is between June and October, when wildlife viewing is at its peak.
