Overview
Masai Mara National Reserve is Kenya’s most famous safari destination, known for its breathtaking landscapes, diverse wildlife, and the annual Great Migration. Spanning approximately 1,510 square kilometers, the reserve is home to the Big Five—lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhino. The Mara River, which cuts through the reserve, is a dramatic setting for the migration, where thousands of wildebeests and zebras cross while evading crocodiles. Visitors can experience thrilling game drives, hot air balloon safaris, and cultural interactions with the Maasai people. The reserve is best visited between July and October for the migration spectacle, but its rich biodiversity makes it a year-round safari destination
