Mount Longonot is a dormant volcano located in the Great Rift Valley, standing at 2,776 meters. The mountain features a steep but rewarding trail leading to the crater rim, where hikers are treated to panoramic views of the Rift Valley and Lake Naivasha. The entire hike, including a loop around the crater, takes about 4-5 hours. Longonot’s rugged terrain is home to wildlife such as zebras, buffalos, and antelopes. The best time to hike is during the dry seasons from January to March and June to October. This hike is perfect for those seeking a short but challenging adventure.
