Mount Kenya, Africa’s second-highest peak at 5,199 meters, is a breathtaking hiking destination for adventure seekers. The mountain features three main peaks: Batian (5,199m), Nelion (5,188m), and Point Lenana (4,985m). While Batian and Nelion require technical climbing, Point Lenana is accessible for trekkers. The mountain offers stunning scenery, from dense bamboo forests to alpine meadows and glaciers at higher altitudes. Hikers can spot wildlife such as elephants, buffaloes, and colobus monkeys along the trails. The most popular routes include Sirimon, Naro Moru, and Chogoria, each offering unique landscapes. The best time to hike is from January to March and July to October when the weather is drier.
